The entire Africa mission lasted for 62 days while part of the team stayed for 41 days and others for 21 days Jamie was fortunate enough to be there the whole time!
We know there are 115 confirmed salvations, 4,100 hungry people were fed and 160 Bibles were given to key leaders which were extremely grateful. Unfortunately only 10% of believers have Bibles, which leaves them more vulnerable to deception. We were able to visit the 2 schools for orphans we are currently supporting located in the slums of Africa. Praise God we were blessed to be able to minister to them as well as feeding them and providing toys plus Bibles. These children have never had either of these things and seeing their little faces light up with joy was such a blessing!! We have also started another feeding program for orphans in Tanzania, Africa.
Most of the places we ministered in were either mud huts or structures without power or running water. However, the mighty presence of God was there and we witnessed Jesus heal the lame, sick, possessed, lost and broken hearted!! It is very difficult to fully express some of the things we encountered and the conditions that are considered normal for many. Although we make not be able to change the environment in which these people live the stench of raw sewage or the ever present buzz of the malaria carrying mosquitos. We can give them the inspiration of the scripture and knowledge of the love of Jesus in action by providing food for the orphans that would otherwise perish. Jesus is all the hope they have and need. To see individuals washing trash by the river just to find anything consumable and children without clothes or shoes eating dirt to subside hunger pains is extremely heart wrenching.
While in the bush village of Kit Mikayl we ministered in the only church for many miles in any given direction and we were led to plant and oversee this church.
Just from April until now this church has grown from 70 people to almost 100, which are mostly new believers. We have also been approached by over 15 pastors desiring to have us help plant and oversee more churches. We currently have direction from the Lord to plant a new church in an area where no established church exists.
Africa 2015
This entire Africa missions trip was over 60 days long, with each team member staying at least 30 days.
During this time we were able to take shoes, clothing, OTC meds, bibles, school supplies, candy, and the Love of Jesus to over 400 orphans!! The orphans in the slums often live without parents, food, love, shoes, running water, power, sewage systems, proper clothing and hope in the gospel. This year the shoes for the orphans was a great blessing because they live in raw sewage and many do it without any shoes at all to wear. We were blessed to be able to provide 9 widows living in the bush with groceries. It was a very humbling experience to see just how these dear women live many sick and with disabilities. However the one that will be forever etched in my mind was the 75 year-old woman that was so moved by a simple bag of groceries. She said that if God had sent someone from across the world to share food and prayer with her He must really love her and she needed Him!
I (Angela) had the honor of leading this precious widow in a prayer to receive Jesus as her Lord!!
We got to spend time with all 7 New Churches encouraging the Pastors and people.
Many places were extremely difficult to gain access to but Jesus made a way. The Lake Church had so many orphans and people that there was hardly a place to set your foot, praise God!! We were able to feed over 100 of them and over 30 people were born again. We also were able to bring a laptop to one of the pastors as well as purchase bibles in the Native language of the people. Only 9 % off Christians have a bible in their language so we are so glad we were able to help!
We are blessed to share that both feeding programs for orphans in the slums have been supported now for about 3 years glory to the name of Jesus!! These schools offer 2 free meals a day to starving orphans in the slums of Kenya Africa as well as a free Christian Education which is completely supported by you partners. Africa mission trip 2015 was filled with miracles and massive spreading of the Kingdom and for that we rejoice!
